Plus is a startup Travel-marketing consulting firm that started as a travel
video blog on YouTube called ‘Getawayplanet’, it is devoted to performing
indispensable research that is related to and that influences splendid and
memorable travel experiences. Getawayplanet Plus focuses on providing travel
advice, answering queries and recommending what is best for you as a traveler
depending on your taste, comfort, preference and desired expectations on
travelling in Kenya.
Getawayplanet
plus can provide travel planning assistance for any kind of trip to any
destination in Kenya, from business trips to family holidays to honeymoons,
romantic getaways and anniversaries to adventure seekers and culture change
enthusiasts. Getawayplanet Plus also works with different tourism suppliers
that is, Attraction sites, Hotels, Transport (Airlines, road services) and the
government – Kenya tourism Board to enhance marketing of their products and
services relating to tourism growth and development in Kenya.

Plus uploads a video weekly on YouTube, that is either a Kenyan Travel video
blogs (Attractions, events, restaurants), Getaway Thoughts (Where I talk about
travel, culture, trending and social subjects), Accommodation video blogs
(Hotels, tented camps, resorts and lodges) and the recent category called
Getawayplanet Army - I love this new category because, I get to involve my
viewers and have them participate in promoting tourism in Kenya, by asking them
to send videos of their travel experiences then, I create a montage of it and
upload it.
COMPANY HISTORY
My
background as a travel consultant began when I was studying B.Sc. in Travel and
Tourism Management at Kenya Methodist University and graduated in July 2015
with a First class honors. I was able to do my internship at Kenya Tourism
Board from February 2015 to May 2015 and through that time, I got the idea of
doing video blogging of Kenyan’s attractions as a hobby so that I could be able
to promote Kenyan tourism in a fun unique way. Kenya has a lot of tourism
potential with many attractions that most travelers both domestic and
international don’t know about and haven’t experienced them yet.
With
the small income I made during my internship, I bought filming equipment and a
video editing software to use for filming and creating the video contents for
upload on YouTube to the account I created on March of 2015 by the channel name
“Getawayplanet”. Since then I’ve been travelling within Kenya while taking
video blogs of my experiences – from Safaris to Attraction sites to
Hotels/Tented Camps and Events.
